Who are we?

Amy Williams, Age 20
Since joining Young Farmers I have made loads of new friends and now feel part of the family! I have a real sense of achievement when we raise money to help our local community. It's just great to be a member!
We provide for our members education, a framework within which to develop social skills, a well established and immensely varied social life and the opportunity to compete in a huge range of activities as well as an exchange programm and travel scholarships.
YFCs age range is from ten to twenty six years, the clubs vary greatly in their composition and character and are open to anyone in the county of age who has an interest in the countryside. The Clubs are self led organizations that are there to entertain and educate their members.
Typically this would be a calender of social, educational, fundraising and competitive events operating at club, county, South West area and national level. Young Farmers have a long tradition of fundraising and activity within local community and The National Federation of YFCs operate an international exchange program and travel scholarships for their members.
The impact and benefit for young farmers clubs is that Club members are part of an active group that exists within a nationally organized framework with seventy years of experience. YFCs are safe and exciting environments for young people to be in. Young Farmers Clubs give their members an interesting and relevant program of activities that stimulate, educate and entertain.
We compete at almost anything, from traditional disciplines like public speaking and stock judging right through to the downright silly, like big bale pushing and welly wanging. Our social events program is and always has been the stuff of legend.
Check us out, come to a meeting, go to one of our dances, phone us up, drop us a line, get involved with Gloucestershire Young Farmers.
